Special Reiki Circle:
Words Before All Else Gratitude Ceremony
4:00 – 4:15: Arrive, friendly chat, wait for stragglers :-)
4:15 – 4:30: Prepare our gratitude centerpiece. Please bring a small symbolic item as an offering of gratitude: a token from nature to be returned to the earth, a crystal, flower, herb, food, pebble, etc. to be placed near the “Central Candle.”
(Your offering won’t be returned to you, but returned to the earth by means of me digging a small hole somewhere in the urban landscape of Brighton and offering it back. Maybe we can do it after Reiki if you’d like to join me :-))
4:30 – 5:00: Ceremony
– Invocation and recitation of the Haudenosaunee Thanksgiving Address.
We will be reading from a version of the Address developed and “translated into all the languages of the world” by Jake Swamp, Mohawk leader and founder of the Trees of Peace Society and John Stokes, indigenous scholar and founder of the Tracking Project.
– Individual declaration of gratitude and lighting of your personal candle from the Central Candle. (If you’d prefer, opt to light your candle in silence.)
– Meditation on the North and South Pole Reiki Grids for peace and healing for the Earth, and all her elements and sacred beings, animal, plant, and human.
5:00 – 7:00: Reiki Practice as usual, open to Reiki practitioners, any level, and to non-practitioners wishing to receive a Reiki treatment.
This is me inside my head as I walk through Brighton center noticing nature growing up through the concrete on the sidewalk, sprouting up through a crack in the tarmac, or spreading green across chain link fences and the sides of brick buildings housing pizza shops and insurance agencies :-)
